Zandra has devoted much of her time to setting up the Fashion and Textile Museum in London (FTM). She commissioned the top International Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta to design it. The result was an incredible destination point of a colourful orange and pink structure amongst the greys of London. This building has already received a Civic Trust Award from the city.

The FTM museum is dedicated to showing the work of fashion and textile designers from the 1950's onwards and it was officially opened in May 2003 by HRH Princess Michael of Kent. This cutting edge centre is now part of Newham College of Further Education and the museum is a hub of learning, ideas and networking for the fashion and jewellery industry.

To date there have been some particularly memorable exhibitions focusing on the talent of key British designers and companies. Amongst these and of particular note are: Bill Gibb's Billy: Bill Gibb's Moment in Time, Sanderson's Very Sanderson - 150 years of English decoration, Horrockses Fashions: Off the Peg Style in the '40s and '50s and Foale and Tuffin Made in England.
